The Ukrainian army announced on Friday that it had hit four warplanes on aircraft in the Volgograd region of Central Russia as part of operations for the destruction of Russian military media.
In a post on the Telegram platform, the Ukrainian army said that four SU-34 aircraft were hit at the base of Marinovka, outside the city of Volgograd, about 900 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.
The post notes that the operation was carried out by the Army Special Operations Unit, in collaboration with the SBU Security Service and other military services.
“According to preliminary information, four aircraft, specifically SU-34, were affected, as well as technical-operative facilities serving and repairing various warplanes,” the statement said.
In particular, two Russian fighters were destroyed and suffered two more.
There was no immediate comment by the Russian army.
Ukraine has carried out a series of long -range operations against military targets in recent months of industrial, energy and other facilities.
Earlier this month, the Ukrainian army launched a large attack under the code name “Spider Web”, which affected a large number of Russian large -scale Russian bombers in various air bases deep in Russian territory.
The latest announcement is noted that the extent of the damage from the hit in Marinoovka is under evaluation.
The Su-34 is described as the main Russian aircraft used in Ukrainian territory bombings, and in particular for the launch of directed bombs, which are increasingly used in attacks on Ukrainian cities.
