A cargo of dozens of bulldozers was delivered today by the US to the Israeli army after months of delays, according to the Israeli Defense Ministry.
The Caterpillar D9 Bulldozers – totaling more than 100,000 tonnes – and other equipment were unloaded by a ship in the port of Haifa. They were then loaded into trucks and transferred to a logistics center of Israeli defense forces to “install shielding” them, according to the Times of Israel.
Last November, the Biden government suspended the sale of D9 to Israel because of their use by Israeli defense forces to demolish houses in Gaza.
The IDFs, however, have stated that the houses were used by Hamas and accuse the terrorist group of using citizens as human shields.
Palestinians argue that bulldozers are used to continue the commitment of “war crimes”, such as the destruction of Palestinian houses.
Mass demolitions take place daily at the Jenin Refugee Camp, the Tulcarm Refugee Camp and the Nour Sams refugee camp, including areas on the occupied West Bank.
