Houthi today took responsibility for the attack on the Liberian flag of a Greek -owned cargo ship Eternity C, the second attack launched by Yemeni guerrillas within 24 hours of the Red Sea.

“The Naval Power of Yemen’s Armed Forces targeted the ship (Eternity C)“, Said the military spokesman for the Iranian rebel, Yaha Sari, claiming that the attack was in solidarity with the Palestinians in Gaza and claiming that the ship was heading to the Israeli port.

Four of the 25 people aboard Eternity C were killed before the rest of the crew abandoned the ship, which sank this morning after the attack on Monday, sources said in security companies involved in a rescue operation.

The European Union’s naval mission to the Red Sea announced earlier today that six crew members were collected by the sea, while 15 crew members were still missing.

“Yemen’s Navy responded to rescue some members of the ship’s crew, provide them with medical care and transfer them to a safe location“, Said the Houthi military spokesman.

The attack happened as the ship sailed about 50 nautical miles off the Pondida port of Yemen. The attack was launched by floating drones and Houthi armed men who were on board the offspring off Yemen.

This is the second attack by the rebels within 24 hours, after Sunday’s Magic Seas cargo ship – Greek interests, also under the Liberian flag – which Houthi said it was sunk.
