Italian fashion founder Georgio Armani ended in his 91st year on Friday and said he would return in September, after a health problem forced him to lose fashion shows in Milan and Paris in recent weeks, according to the Reuters news agency.

It was the first time that George Armani lost one of his events. His company said last month that he was recovering at his home without clarifying his health, while Italian news networks reported he was in the hospital for a few days.

“In recent weeks I have strongly felt the love of those who thought of me,” Armani said in an open letter published by many Italian newspapers, referring to the family, colleagues, employees, press and people on social media.

“Today, on my 91st birthday, I would like to thank you all for the proximity you showed me. It wasn’t easy for me not to hear your applause live. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and will see you again in September, “he added.

Milan fashion week is scheduled to run from September 23 to 29.
