Nine people lost their lives From fire to a nursing home in Massachusetts and tat least 30 others were injuredlocal authorities announced today.

“Nine people died in the building last night. One man is in critical condition and we have been transporting (in hospitals) at least 30 others, “said Jeffrey Bacon, head of Follower River, a city in southeastern Massachusetts.

“It’s a tragedy. I pray for the victims, “Bacon added, in statements he made on the local TV channel Boston 25 News.

Firefighters arrived at Gabriel House, in Oliver Street, around 21.50 on Sunday night and saw “dense smoke and flames” in the front of the building. Foods were trapped inside. “About 12 people, who had mobility problems, were moved by firefighters,” the service said.

Five firefighters were slightly injured during the attempt to extinguish and their lives are not at risk.

About 70 people were hosted at the nursing home.
