Israel has confirmed that it launched a air strike against a military target near the Damascus Presidential Palace as part of escalating tensions with Syria.

An Israeli military official said this was a clear message to Damascus, that Israel will not allow the slaughter of Drouz in Syria.

Among other things, Israel declares that it will not allow military rally on its borders with southern Syria, while saying that Syrian forces do not prevent attacks on Drouz, do not solve the problem, but is part of the problem.

At the same time, the same source noted that Israel is in close contact with its US partners.

Israel reinforces its forces

Israeli Police Chief Daniel Levi ordered the development of Israeli police and border guard along the Israeli -Syria border on Wednesday, with the aim of assisting IDFs to prevent Israeli Drouzos.

At the same time, the Chief of the General Staff of the Israeli Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, ordered to further strengthen the border area with Syria, with additional surveillance and aggressive potential, amid on the continued episodes in Syria.

Zamir also ordered the Northern Administration to transfer forces to the border with Syria, with the aim of “increasing the rate of wounds and ceasing attacks on Drunges in Syria,” according to the army.

The additional forces will strengthen the 210th Bassan Division along the border, as well as the Israeli control area within Syrian soil.

“Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) are committed to the strong alliance with our Druzo brothers and, therefore, are affecting goals throughout Syria in order to protect them in the Sueida region, Jambal al-Druz, and wherever it is necessary.”

The IDFs also add that “the uncontrolled crossing of the fence to Syria endangers both the Druzo and our own forces and must stop immediately”, referring to the incident in which about 1,000 Israeli Druzians crossed the borders today to Syria.
