New accusations against Israel has launched today, Friday, the armed wing of the Palestinian Hamas organization, saying it is blocking the ongoing negotiations to achieve a ceasefire and to release hostages from the Gaza Strip.
Specifically, a spokesman for Hamas’s armed wing said on Friday that while the organization is in favor of achieving a temporary ceasefire in the Gaza War, if such an agreement is not reached in current negotiations, it could return to its persistence.
Hamas has repeatedly been offered to release all hostages held in Gaza and to conclude a permanent ceasefire agreement, but Israel denied it, Abu Obidida said in a television speech.
Arab mediators, Qatar and Egypt, with the support of the United States, hosted more than 10 days of talks on a US -backed proposal for a 60 -day truce in the war that has destroyed the Palestinian enclave.
Under the possible agreement, 10 hostages held in Gaza will be returned along with the bodies of 18 others in 60 days. In return, Israel will release a number of Palestinian prisoners.
“If the enemy remains stubborn and avoids this round as he has done every time in the past, we cannot guarantee a return to some agreements or the proposal of the 10 prisoners,” said Abu Obida.
The disagreements remain on the maps of the Israeli army withdrawal, the mechanisms of surrender to Gaza, and the guarantees that any final truce would lead to the end of the war, two Hamas officials said on Reuters on Friday.
Officials said the talks have not made any progress in the issues under discussion.
Hamas says that any agreement should lead to the end of war, while Netanyahu says that the war will only end when Hamas is disarmed and its leaders are expelled from Gaza.
