Southwestern Pakistan police have arrested a total of 14 suspects for the murder of a couple allegedly maintaining an extramarital affair. Among those arrested is the leader of a local tribe, who ordered the murder.

The murders, in Balotsistan province, caught the attention of the authorities after releasing a video that caused a stir and shows the perpetrators shooting the victims.

The man who shot and killed the woman was her brother, who acted on behalf of the family and the tribe, said province police chief Mozam Jach Ansari. The murders were ordered by the leader of the tribe, Sir Baz Satakzai.

At a press conference, the first minister of the province, Sarfrez Bougki, said Satakzai had been arrested. “We will ensure that everyone is prosecuted,” he added.

It was not clarified whether the woman’s brother is among those arrested.

The victims, who were accused of maintaining an extramarital affair, had had many children from their marriages, Buggy said. Initially, the police believed they were killed because they were married to each other despite the objections of their families.

“No one has the right, for any reason, to kill someone in such a painful, thunderous way. It’s a crime. It’s murder, “Buggy said.

The video showed a man shooting the woman from a very close distance and a bloodthirsty man fallen to the ground near her corpse. In the following shots, many men shoot the two dead.

A local court today ordered the bodies to be carried out to carry out a necropsy.
