The United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) has announced that it will comply with the executive mandate Donald Trump, which prohibits the participation of Trans athletes in women’s competitions. This mandate was recently incorporated into the revised Commission Athletes Protection Policy.

Although the new 27 -page document does not explicitly state the term “transgender”, it includes a paragraph referring to Trump’s order and the law Ted Stevens Olympic & Amateur Sports Act.

USOPC reports in a letter to its shareholders that ‘As a federally recognized organization, we have an obligation to comply with federal instructions“, Stressing that he has worked closely with the competent authorities since the issuance of the mandate.

The new directive will apply to all US sports (NGBs) of the US, which are required to comply with the official USOPC policy.

Since July 21, 2025, the USOPC website has been informed, now referring exclusively to the new athlete security policy.

Prior to this change, the Commission emphasized that it was based on “real data and scientific evidence rather than ideologies” to determine the eligibility of transgender athletes.
