The death of hunger “knocks on the door” to Gaza. Loss and fear are spreading, as more and more humanitarian organizations are warning that “zero time” has arrived.

At least 34 people were killed while seeking help in Gaza for the last 24 hours, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.

More than 644 people were injured, also trying to get help during the same period.

The United Nations Human Rights Office said at least 1,054 Palestinians “were killed by the Israeli army in Gaza while trying to access food” between May 27 and July 21, CNN notes.

“The UN -led humanitarian system has not failed, but has been prevented from operating,” the UN said in a statement.

Appeal for help

A stakeholder warning signed by more than 100 humanitarian organizations calls on the Israeli government to end Gaza exclusion, noting that there are enough food to avoid hunger, but Israel does not allow them to enter.

He also said that, along with Palestinian citizens, humanitarian workers are in danger of dying of hunger and shot as they are looking for food.

“Just outside Gaza, in warehouses – and even in the gauze itself – tons of food, clean water, medical supplies, housing and fuel, they remain intact, as humanitarian organizations do not have access to them nor can they deliver them. Restrictions and delays have caused chaos, hunger and death, “the joint statement said.

Oxfam’s director Scott Paul told CNN that hunger is “knocking on the door” in Gaza.

Paul said that there are currently food supplies for two months – enough to supply the entire Gaza – waiting at the border, but Israel is limiting the distribution of aid.

Israel, however, claims to allow abundant aid to enter the besieged Palestinian territory.

Warns and Guterres

“The level of deaths” in Gaza “has no precedent,” says the UN chief. Hunger “knocks every door” to Gaza, according to UN Secretary -General Antonio Guterres, who described the situation as horrible.

“Around the world, we see an absolute indifference, if not a blatant violation of international law,” he told the United Nations Security Council yesterday.

The new Israeli army operation in Deir al-Balah, in the center of Gaza, means that “the disaster is added to the disaster”.

Guterres also said he was “shocked” by the attack on a UN facilities in Gaza, including United Nations Office facilities for programs and warehouses and housing belonging to the World Health Organization.

“These facilities are inviolable and must be protected without exception from international humanitarian law,” he said.

Drunched vital polyclinic

Humanitarian workers were treated patients while preparing to evacuate the central city of Deir al-Balah, Gaza, where, according to NGOs in the area, residents reported that the Israeli army had ordered them to leave an area of about 6 squares.

“We were forced to evacuate one of our most important humanitarian works, our Polyclinic, which provides daily primary health care, rehabilitation and psychological support to hundreds of patients. We only had a few hours to leave, while dozens of people were still arriving, “Mai Elawawda, the communications officer of the Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP), told CNN.

MAP workers “just couldn’t get away with them,” Elawawda said. “We helped them even while we were picking up our things,” he added.

In the days preceding the forced evacuation, the MAP clinic received patients who had not eaten for days, including children and pregnant women, she said.

People who were shot while seeking help, also received care at the clinic, Elawawda noted, noting that the MAP team had cared for about 120 injured who needed help after being injured while trying to receive humanitarian aid.

Condemns France

France “strongly condemns” the expansion of the Israeli attack on central Gaza, which has forced tens of thousands of people to flee, the French Foreign Ministry said today.

“This new operation accelerates the deterioration of the humanitarian situation, characterized by malnutrition and risk of starvation,” the ministry said, criticizing Israel to exclude the provision of Palestinian territories, as well as shooting against those who are trying to access.

France reiterated its request to Israel to comply with its obligations under international law against the civilian population in Gaza and to immediately allow the aid to enter, as well as journalists, in Gaza, and to stop preventing international organizations.
