The funeral of the legend of Heavy Metal Ozzy Osbourne took place, with thousands of fans paying tribute to his home country, Birmingham.
Among the most moving moments was the appearance of his daughter, Kelly Osbourne, who wore her father’s purple glasses as a sign of love and honor.
The 40 -year -old Kelly, especially tied to her father – after having described her in the past as his “beloved child” – was unable to hide her emotion, hiding her tears behind the glasses that had been inextricably linked to him.
The funeral was preceded by a procession in the city center, accompanied by bronze winds reproducing well -known pieces of Black Sabbath, such as “Iron Man” and “Crazy Train”, while the crowd had begun to gather early to bid farewell to the beloved artist.
The family – the wife of Sharon and the kids Kelly, Jack and Aimee – stood by the Fermetro’s side and then left flowers in front of a poster with the message: “Birmingham will love you forever.”
With them was Louis, son of Ozzy from his first marriage to Thelma Riley.
The procession also passed from the house where Ozzy grew up in the Aston district, with fans leaving flowers and love notes outside the entrance.
Sharon Osborne tearful, with her children together, left flowers in memory of her husband, on the bench on the Black Sabbath Bridge, where thousands of fans gathered to honor the “Prince of Darkness”, who died last week.
The musician manager and a former member of the X Factor reality committee welcomed fans waiting for hours on central streets of the city, passing through the motorway that carried the body of Ozi Ozborn to a public -farewell ceremony.
The procession passed through the stadium, at the beginning of the month of Ozi Ozborn’s farewell concert with Black Sabbath, the house where he grew up before heading to the city center of Birmingham.
Fans wearing a t-shirt and a scarf of Ozi and Sabbath were lined up on Broad Street.
People of all ages holding posters, records and symbols of the singer’s music career shouted his name and sing lyrics by Crazy Train and Iron Man.
“We love you, Sharon,” they shouted at the wife of the late Ozi Ozborn, and she returned with the peace mark, according to The Independent.
Ozi and Sharon Osborn have been married for over four decades and became one of the most famous couples in the United Kingdom, as their hectic family life was presented at the 2002 reality show, The Osbournes.
The couple, who married in 1982, celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary this month, a few weeks before Ozi Ozborn’s death on July 22.
In 2022, Sharon Osborn had written on Instagram: “For over 52 years we have been friends, lovers, husbands, grandparents and sisters of souls. Always on each other’s side. I love you Oz. “
All the messages left by fans will be collected to read the Osborne family have been announced by the Birmingham City Council.
“I have never seen such a passion again by Birmingham residents for a musician. They lost the “prince of darkness”, “Deputy Chief of the City Council, Sharon Thomson, told the BBC.
It is worth noting that Heavy Metal’s “godfather” had expressed his “wishes” with his funeral in an earlier interview, saying:
“I don’t care what music will play. I want it to be a celebration, not a fatal one. And if it can have a little fun – perhaps an audio with beats from the coffin or play a video with me consulting a doctor as a second opinion on my death. “
