The United States and their 13 allied countries, including Britain and France, accused Iran of conducting a “murder and kidnapping” policy abroad in a joint statement.

“We are united in our opposition to the efforts of Iranian intelligence services to kill, abduct and harass citizens in Europe and North America, blatantly violating our sovereignty,” they said in the text.

Conquering the rise of murder, kidnapping and harassment plans by Iranian intelligence services aimed at citizens in Europe and North America, these countries say such actions are increasingly carried out in cooperation with international criminal networks.

“These services are increasingly working with international criminal organizations to target journalists, dissidents, Jewish citizens, now and former officials in Europe and North America. This is unacceptable.”

No clarification was given to the nature of these attacks, nor that allegedly took place.

However, the British Parliament’s Information and Security Committee (ISC) observed in a report 15 days ago that the threat of physical attacks from Iran on British territory has increased “significantly”, with at least 15 attempts at homicide or abduction since 2022.

And according to a report by the Dutch Information Services, the Netherlands considered “it is likely that Iran be responsible for attempts to murder”, citing the case of an Iranian targeted in June 2024.

In addition to the United States, the governments of Britain, Albania, Austria, Belgium, Canada, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain and Sweden sign this statement.

“We are committed to working together to prevent such actions from being taken and calling on the Iranian authorities to immediately stop these illegal activities in our respective territories,” they say.
