Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s wife, Emine, sent a letter to the First Lady of the US Melania Trump, inviting her to show the same sensitivity to the war in Ukraine and the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

In her letter, Emine Erdogan greets Melania Trump “with honest love and respect” and says that her sincere conversation and polite hospitality during their meeting at the White House in Washington, despite the fact that they have spent six years since then, remain alive.

Emine Erdogan says that during the dinner they had and their walk in the garden, they gave her the feeling that Melania was sensitive to current issues and that this sensitivity is also reflected in the letter she recently wrote to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Emine Erdogan believes that what Trump wrote in that letter expresses the common feelings of mankind and states that he appreciates this valuable attitude, saying that “the sensitivity you have to orphaned children in Ukraine is an initiative that inspires.”

Following her letter, Emine Erdogan points out that the children of Ukraine are not the only ones whose laughter has been erased, referring to the children of Palestine who “entitled the same joy, the same freedom, the same decent future”.

He asks Melania Trump to send a letter to Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu “with your strong appeal to end the humanitarian crisis in Gaza”.
