The former Prime Minister of Britain, Tony Blairis highlighted in a central person in attempting to remove the Donald Trump of the ‘most extreme’ post -war plans for the Gauzeaccording to diplomatic sources.

Blair attended a meeting at the White House on Wednesday with the aim of developing a “integrated plan” for the region if a peace agreement with Israel was reached. According to the newspaper “The I Paper”, the 72 -year -old former prime minister had informed Kir Starmer’s office of his presence in the US capital, however, clarifying that he was involved in his personal capacity and not under an official role for the UK government.

The meeting was also attended by the bridegroom and former Trump envoy to the Middle East, Jared Koussner, as a White House official confirmed. According to the same official, Trump, Blair and Kouchner, along with top White House collaborators, discussed the return of Israeli hostages, plans to increase food aid to the enclave, as well as post -war plans for the area.

In the past, Donald Trump had supported proposals to convert the war to a “Riviera of the Middle East”, which indirectly implied the forced removal of the Palestinians. However, diplomatic sources told the “I” newspaper that Blair and Kounsner are now regarded as key faces who can push Trump to more realistic solutions for Gaza.

A source from the discussion environment stressed that Blair maintains a close relationship with Kouchner.

It is recalled that after his departure from the prime minister, Tony Blair was a special envoy to the “quartet” for the Middle East (EU, USA, UN and Russia) by 2015. The same source added that, thanks to his experience, Blair knows the issue in depth, His ideas for Gaza.

Blair’s presence at the meeting was also welcomed by Lord Ricets, who chaired the Mixed Intelligence Committee during Blair’s prime minister before being appointed a national security adviser. “It is only a good thing that the White House involved Tony Blair. It has the kind of deep knowledge of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict missing by the Trump government, “he said. “And he understands that the only way forward is cooperation with the Arab countries, and this requires the offer of some kind of political future for the Palestinians.”

Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Hlemert made similar statements, who told the BBC that both Blair and Kussner “could be very useful, very helpful, very knowledgeable, perhaps more than most other advisers who are now working with President Trump”.

Reacting to Blair’s involvement, the leader of the liberal democrats, Sir Ed Davi, asked the former prime minister to testify before Parliament what he learned from his discussions with Trump’s team. “If he has a special knowledge of Trump’s intentions, it is fair for parliament and the government to be informed,” Davi said. “Trump has a unique power to help end this war, liberate hostages, and to reach the desperately necessary aid to relieve the horrible humanitarian crisis in Gaza. We need to make use of every information and resource we have to make it do the right thing. “
