Hamas released a video featuring unpublished footage by its former leaders, who are considered the architects of the October 7th 2023 attack in southern Israel. The video was given after Hamas confirmed death of its military leader Mohammed Sinuara few months after Israel announced that it had killed him in an air raid in May.
All the men who appear in the video were killed in Israeli army operations in the last 22 months which Hamas characterizes as “Witnesses”.
The video, which lasts more than three minutes, begins with an excerpt from the former head of Hamas’s military wing, Muhammad Daif, who talks about Hamas’ fight against Israel’s “tyrants”, with a sad music. The music continues throughout, as excerpts from rocket launches against Israel, the 7 October invasion, military parades and various other Hamas propaganda materials are reproduced on the screen.

Among the extracts there is a brief passage from what seems to be a meeting between several former Hamas leaders, including Hamas Political Bureau leader Ismail Haniye, Yaha Sinvar, and Deputy Commander of the Military Wing.
Sinuar, equal and Daif were all killed in IDF operations in 2024. Haniye was killed in Iran.
The video also includes what seems to be at least one image created by artificial intelligence.
Muhammad was killed in an air raid in May along with Muhammad Sambana, Commander of the Rafa Brigade and Mahi Kuara, commander of the South Han Junis Order, with whom he met.
The Israeli Air Force initially hesitated to launch the invasion, fearing to kill hostages that may have been close to the former Hamas leader, but proceeded to the operation when he received information that there were no captives nearby.
