Testimonies from people who say they were found in front of UFO (Unidentified Flying Object), that is, unknown flying objects or UAP (Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena), that is, “unknown identity abnormal phenomena”, as they are officially known, heard members of the US Congress.

Five witnesses speak in the hearing, according to the BBC, including veteran military.

In one case one of the witnesses said that he remembers his friend shouting “coming up to us” in an incident in 2003.

Another witness said he saw an “self -inflicted” object emerging from the ocean while serving on a US Navy ship in 2023, before meeting with three other similar objects which then accelerated and removed.

According to NASA, the US Space Service “He has not found any reliable evidence of extraterrestrial life and there is no evidence that UAP is alien. “

Although this hearing sounds testimonies of UAP views, there are many people who have never seen unexplained phenomena, they believe they are caused by extraterrestrial life.

Conspiracy theories are not new – appear (and believed) throughout human history, as BBC notes,

After a fire that destroyed ancient Rome in 64 AD, for example, Emperor Nero was accused. The story spread as fast as flames, but historians now believe it was unlikely.

According to the BBC, there are many reasons why conspiracy theories dominate. Researchers studying conspiracy theories have revealed what journalist Melissa Hogenboom describes as “variety of explanations”:

  • People attracted to conspiracy theories tend to want to feel unique. The “secret” information they claim to have access to them help to feel this.
  • Those who believe in conspiracy theories often feel more politically indifferent.
  • Conspiracy theories can also help people understand the people who feel they are out of control, as the answers they offer can be psychological.
  • However, ideas for concealment or global conspiracy theories can also make people feel even more uncertain and powerless.
  • UFO views (or UAP as they are now known) tend to increase in periods of macroeconomic conflicts. There was a remarkable increase (of views) during the Covid-19 pandemic, for example.
  • If politicians admit that extraterrestrial visits can be kept secret, then the general public is more likely to see conspiracy theories in a positive way.
