NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg has described the deaths of civilians in the Ukrainian city of Bukha as “unacceptable”. Speaking to CNN, he said the deaths were “a barbaric act against civilians that we have not seen in Europe for decades” and that it “underscores the importance that this war must end”.
NATO “is worried about possible “Increased Russian attacks, especially in the south and east of Ukraine,” Jens Stoltenberg warned in an interview with CNN.
The NATO Secretary General reiterated that the withdrawal of Russian troops from Kyiv is not a real withdrawal, but is mainly a reorganization of forces, while more attacks may follow.
Stoltenberg made the remarks in the wake of reports by the Ukrainian government on Saturday that the entire Kiev region had been released by Russian forces. “Irpin, Bouka, Gostomeli and the entire Kiev region were liberated from the invader,” Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Malyar said in a Facebook post.
The Russian atrocities in the Ukrainian city of Bukha near Kyiv were condemned by the West on Sunday, with Berlin to announce new sanctions against Moscow.
