The General Staff of the Ukrainian Army announced on Sunday that the Russian units have withdrawn from areas in the north to neighboring Belarus, which served as a starting point for the Russian invasion.
Russia’s withdrawal was part of the country’s commitment to limit its military activities around the northern regions of Kiev and Chernihiv, which he described as “a gesture of confidence-building”.
But President Zelensky is among those who say Russia has moved its troops to refocus efforts to occupy the southern and eastern parts of the country.
