The families of Israeli hostage families proceeded to a strong condemnation of the United Kingdom, Canada and Australian initiative to recognize the Palestinian state.
They proceeded to “unconditionally recognition of a Palestinian state, while at the same time ignoring the fact that 48 hostages remain under Hamas’s hostage,” says the forum of hostage and missing families in a statement.
“As families who want deep peace in the region, we believe that any debate on recognizing a Palestinian state must depend on the immediate liberation of all hostages,” the forum adds, stressing that it is a “moral and humanitarian requirement”.
The forum also urges other countries to “act responsibly and to ensure that any discussions on” next day “will only take place after our loved ones return home.”
“We are seeking to end this war, the safe return of all hostages and a sustainable peace that will benefit both peoples,” the forum said in a statement, adding that any other action “effectively allows terrorism, while legitimizing its massacre.”
“The offer of such significant political rewards without ensuring the return of all 48 loved ones demonstrates the destructive failure, political, moral and diplomatic, of the leadership that will seriously harm efforts to return everyone to their homeland,” concludes the Israeli families’ forum.
