Thousands of protesters against the Israeli war in the Gaza Strip marched in New York on Friday, as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the city to participate in the UN General Assembly.
The protesters waved Palestinian flags, wore scarves and holding banners that wrote ‘Release Palestine’; ‘Stop starving in Gaza’ and ‘Weapon embargo now’.

The protesters gathered at Times Square, opposite the United Nations building, and began a march to the UN.
“Netiana, you can’t hide, we blame you for genocide”they were shouting.
In his speech to the UN on Friday, Netanyahu denounced Western countries for the recognition of the Palestinian state. Many delegates left the room when he stepped up.
Pictures of hungry Palestinians that tour the internet daily have caused anger against the Israeli attack on Gaza, which has killed tens of thousands of people and has displaced the entire population of Gaza. Israel characterizes the actions of “self -defense” after the October 2023 attack, led by Hamas Palestinian fighters, who killed 1,200 people and more than 250 were held hostage.
Israel’s actions in Gaza have also been a topic of debate in the election of New York City City. The Filopalaistinian candidate mayor Mammoth condemned Netanyahu’s visit while the Eric Adamsthe current mayor, he said he was ‘Proud to meet’ Netanyahu.
