One man was killed and another twelve are missing in Vietnam, which is now hit by Hurricane Boulavi. Hurricane scans the NGGE province if (centrally), with the intensity of the winds having fallen to 88 km/h from the 117 km/h recorded in the past hours, according to the National Weather Service.

Yesterday, Hurricane Boulavi moved for several hours along the Vietnamese coast, causing waves of up to eight meters high.

A man lost his life when he was dragged by a torrent in the city of Hue. Four fishing boats were sank due to the fierce seaside off the province of Quang Tri, causing the fate of at least 12 fishermen, according to state media.

Authorities had removed more than 28,500 coastal residents, after meteorologists had warned of the risk of extensive floods and landslides. Four airports were closed for security reasons, causing hundreds of flights to cancel.

Much of the Vietnam coastline is wet by the South China Sea, making the country vulnerable to hurricanes often formed in the east of the Philippines, where Boulavi caused the deaths of at least 11 people.
