The leader of the Lebanese organization Hezbollah today appreciated that the American plan to end the war in Gauze strip “He finds danger” and accused Israel of wanting to use it to achieve other goals.
“In fact, this plan is full of dangers,” said Naim Kassem, the leader of the pro -Roman movement, an ally of the Palestinian Hamas, whose unprecedented attack on Israeli territory, on October 7, 2023, stated the war on the war.
“This is Israel’s plan that seeks to achieve it through the political path, after failing militarily, with attack, genocide and famine,” he said in a speech to complete one year after the deaths of two Hezbollah commanders in the war of the organization with Israel.
Kassem argued that Israel intends to use US President Donald Trump’s plan as a pretext to put the Palestinian territories under its control.
On Friday, Hamas said she was ready for negotiations to release hostages abducted on October 7, 2023 and ending the war in Gaza, based on Trump’s plan. Kassem assured that Hezbollah “is not involved in the detail discussion” of the plan as “in the end, it is left to the Palestinian resistance, in Hamas and all the facilities that are discussing to decide”.
But “we have to oppose the plan of the Great Israel,” he added.
The expression “Great Israel” refers to the biblical border at the time of King Solomon who included the West Bank but also territories that are now in neighboring countries (Jordan, Lebanon, Syria) and who dream of conquering supranationalists. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has caused anger in many Arab countries this summer, when he said in an interview that he agrees with this plan.
When the war broke out in Gaza, Hezbollah opened a front against Israel, launching rockets from southern Lebanon. The hostilities evolved into an open war in September 2024 but two months later a fragile truce was agreed.
Hezbollah has been weakened by this war and is now under intense pressure in Lebanese and abroad to deposit its weapons to the state.
