US Special Envoy Steve Whitkov and the groom of the American president Jared Cousner They are expected to depart for Egypt on Tuesday and arrive in the country on Wednesday, amid negotiations to liberate Hamas hostages and a wider end of the Gaza war, according to two sources who spoke to CNN on Tuesday.
The negotiators of Israel and Hamas are in Sharm El Sheikh to try to settle the details of the ceasefire and the release of the hostages, after the conditional acceptance by Hamas part of the Donald Trump’s 20 -point peace proposal.
Witten and Kounsner were actively involved in the preparation of the Trump plan. The US president referred to Whitkov and his groom on Monday as a great team and expressed his confidence that an agreement would be reached.
One of the sources of CNN said the goal is to reach an agreement this week, but it is not clear if this would be possible. They also added that it is possible that Qatar and Egypt’s negotiators would reach an agreement until the arrival of Kussner and Witkov.
