Ukraine President Volodimir Zelenski today called on the international community to act after a week of more than 4,000 Russian air strikes.
“Moscow allows itself to escalate its blows, making it clear that the world is focused on securing peace in the Middle East,” Zelenski wrote in a message on the social networking platform.
“For this very reason, no relaxation of pressure should be allowed. Sanctions, duties and joint actions against Russian oil buyers, those who finance this war, everything must remain on the table, “he added.
This approach could pave the way for constant peace in Europe, he said. “People can guarantee this alongside the peace process in the Middle East,” the Ukrainian leader underlined.
Ukraine, for a long time, is calling for sanctions, including at the expense of China and India, one of Russia’s largest oil buyers.
The Ukrainian president said Russia has intensified “aerial terrorism against our cities and our communities, increasing blows against our energy infrastructure”. Only in the last week, he said Russia has used more than 3,100 unmanned aircraft, 92 rockets and about 1,360 slip bombs against Ukraine.
“Yesterday, in Kostanibka, a child was killed in a church by a slip bomb,” Zelenski wrote.
Authorities referred to at least 4 dead in the Donetsk region, two of them in Kostanibka and two in the Hersona area.
Today, the Ukrainian Air Force has spoken of more than 100 new Russian attacks with unmanned aircraft, almost all repelled.
