The process of returning the bodies of the 28 dead hostages held in the Gaza Strip from October 7, 2023, is a much slower and painful for families waiting to bury their own and finally be able to mourn.

On Monday, Hamas released the last 20 living hostages who were staying and handed them over to groups of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Committee in two phases. They returned to Israel after 738 days of their detention in the Gaza Strip.
