Jared Kushner, son-in-law of President Trump, and special envoy Steve Witkoff give an exclusive CBS interview revealing the behind-the-scenes and tense moments leading up to the cease-fire and hostage-release agreement between Hamas and Israel.
The US president decided to act decisively after an Israeli bombardment of Qatar threatened to derail the deal, which was very close to being signed.
In September, Israel bombed a building in Doha where the Hamas delegation was located in an attempt to neutralize the organization’s leadership. The attack even killed a Qatari security guard who was in the building with Hamas leaders.

“[Ο Τραμπ] he felt the Israelis were getting a little out of hand,” Kushner said.
“At that time we had to be very strict and stop them (the Israelis) from doing things that, in his (president’s) opinion, were not in their long-term interest,” he said.
The entire interview will air on CBS tomorrow, Sunday.
