The kidnapping of an 18-year-old goalkeeper from Senegal, who was murdered by his captors in Ghana, ended tragically after his family failed to raise the ransom they demanded for his release.

Senegal’s Ministry of African Integration and Foreign Affairs issued a statement confirming the killing of the young goalkeeper, who was found dead in Ghana.

According to authorities, Sheikh Toure was kidnapped after being tricked by an armed group of extortionists into believing he was going to participate in a trial to join a professional team.

The scam resulted in the young footballer being held hostage, with the perpetrators demanding a ransom from his family in exchange for his release.

Unfortunately, the family’s efforts were in vain as the criminals carried out their threat and killed the teenage footballer.

Senegalese authorities have launched an investigation into the abduction and murder of Sheikh Touré, in cooperation with the Ghanaian police.

The joint investigation team aims to shed light on the exact circumstances of the tragedy.
