Belarus Deputy Interior Minister Gennady Kazakevich said in a video that three of the men were arrested on the night of March 30 in the central Bobrovsk region.
According to this source, the three suspects, aged 27 and 28, caused damage and set fire to railway electrical cabinets, as well as signaling devices near the town of Osipovichi.
The people were injured after they “resisted” their arrest by the police, which opened fire, the official said. The ministry released a video showing one of the suspects, with his face bruised, his hands tied behind his back, confessing to his actions in front of the camera.
A fourth man – a 40-year-old man accused of similar offenses – was also “seriously” injured in a shooting on April 1 in the Borisov district northeast of Minsk, the deputy minister said.
“Belarus’s Interior Ministry warns that any attempt by such individuals to carry out such sabotage of Belarus’s railways will be severely punished by the use of firearms,” ​​the official said.
According to the Belarusian authorities, “extremists” are calling through the Telegram for “attacks” on the railway infrastructure in the country, which is located in the north of Ukraine.
An ally of Vladimir Putin’s regime, Belarus is a key logistical point in the Russian offensive in Ukraine, with many of these troops launching attacks from the territory of Belarus.

On March 30, the independent Belarusian media outlet Zerkalo reported that about 40 railway workers had been arrested. They are suspected of joining an opposition group of railway workers in the Telegram.
