by

The European Police Office announced today the closure of one of the largest hacker platforms in the world, which sold access to data leaks of American companies.

Its “infrastructure” was confiscated and its manager and two accomplices were arrested, he clarified in an announcement by Europol.

Launched in 2015, RaidForums, according to Europol, had at least half a million users and was one of the most important hacker forums in the world.

“This platform had gained a name by selling access to leaks of important databases owned by US companies from various sectors.”said Europol.

“The databases contained information on millions of credit cards, bank account numbers and routing information, as well as the usernames and associated passwords required to access online accounts.”clarified Europol.

The company with the brand name Tourniquet coordinated by Europol, which supported surveys in the United States, Britain, Sweden, Portugal and Romania.

The operation was “the culmination of a year of meticulous planning among the repression authorities involved in its preparation,” according to Europol.
