A former managing director of the Russian gas company Novatek has been found dead in a villa he rented in Spain. Sergei Protosenia, his wife Natalia and their 18-year-old daughter, in a case that raises questions.
According to the Spanish media, the strange case took place in the settlement of Lluret-de-Mar (province of Chiron). Knife wounds were found on the bodies of the mother and daughter, while the father was found hanging in the garden of the house. A short distance away there was an ax and a knife with traces of blood.
The family usually lived in France, the TV channel reports, and they arrived in Spain for the Easter holidays. The TASS correspondent spoke to the Catalan police, who confirmed the information about the death of a man and two women, but refused to reveal their names. Investigative authorities do not rule out the possibility that the man killed his wife and his daughter and then put an end to his own life.
The Spanish media raise the question of whether Protosenia actually killed his family and then committed suicide or whether it was a mafia attack. The Spanish authorities hope that the case will be clarified through the telephone communications of the family and the testimony of his son Protosenias.
It is noted that a few days ago a similar incident happened in Moscow. Former Gazprombank vice-president Vladislav Avayev, his wife and 13-year-old daughter were found dead. There were gunshot wounds to all the bodies. According to the prevailing version of the police, Avagev killed their wife and their minor daughter and then put an end to his life.
