A single-engine plane crashed today in a district of the city of Bursa in northwestern Turkey, killing the two occupants without causing any casualties on the ground, according to local authorities.

According to the private television network NTV, which broadcasts live images from a street, from which red flames and thick black smoke rise, the plane crashed near Gunouseli airport, shortly after take-off.
Fire trucks and ambulances rushed to the scene, Turkish television reported.
