In Mariupoland specifically in its area Azofstal steel complexDuring the night, the bombing destroyed the operating room of the campaign hospital located within the perimeter of the complex, reports the Ukrainian news agency Ukrinfrom, citing a relevant announcement of the ‘Azov’ battalion posted on the Telegram.
The statement said that throughout the night, bombardments were carried out in the area, with multi-ton bombs that are able to penetrate all kinds of concrete protection facilities, followed by fire from warships. As a result of the attack, part of the facility collapsed, including the operating room, making it impossible to provide medical assistance to the fighters even in the conditions they were in before the bombing.
At the same time, the same announcement points out that there are dead and wounded among the military.
After the bombing, the battalion fighters posted a video, which shows that they are trying to pull out of the rubble the killed soldiers who were being treated for serious injuries and to provide first aid to the wounded.
The Azovstal plant complex in Mariupol is home to about 1,000 civilians and Ukrainian soldiers, including about 500 wounded.
