Moscow-Opens humanitarian corridor announces ceasefire in Azovstal

Russia announced tonight that its forces will observe a ceasefire at the Azovstal steel plantin the Ukrainian port of Mariupol and will open a humanitarian corridor for three days from tomorrow, Thursday, to evacuate civilians.

“The Russian armed forces will open a humanitarian corridor from 08.00 to 18.00 Moscow time on 5, 6 and 7 May from the facilities of the Azovstal steel plant in order to evacuate civilians, “said the Ministry of Defense.

For his part, the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky summoned the UN Secretary General today Antonio Guterres to help “rescue” the injured at the Azovstal steel plant, which besieged and bombed by Russian forces.

“The lives of the people who remain down there are in danger. “We are asking for your help to save them,” Zelensky was quoted as saying by the Ukrainian president’s press service during a telephone conversation with Guterres.
