Two people were injured when police fired into the air during riots.

Hundreds of people had gathered to oppose the government’s plans to restrict indoor entry only to those holding a “health passport”, which indicates whether they have been vaccinated or recovered from Covid-19.

This pass is also currently available for those who have not been vaccinated, but have been tested and tested negative.

The Netherlands imposed a three-week lockdown last weekend for three weeks to halt the spread of the new coronavirus. Infections that are recorded daily, however, remain at their highest level since the beginning of the pandemic.

Dutch media reported that police also used pressurized water to disperse the crowd and that police vehicles were set on fire.
