A 13-year-old boy and a 20-year-old girl were seriously injured.
“The suspect was arrested and the weapon confiscated. Eyewitnesses receive support, help is organized for them. The investigation is ongoing, “Rotterdam police said in a statement on Twitter.
The motive for the crime is not yet known. Police estimate that the suspect acted alone, NOS public television broadcast.
The 38-year-old man, known to the police for years, was described as “disturbed” and presented as a problematic person, Dutch media reported.
The shootings took place inside a farm where children, young people and adults suffering from a disability or mental illness work with animals as a form of treatment, according to the NOS.
