«The Holy Synod, meeting today, Monday, May 9, 2022, under the chairmanship of His Holiness the Ecumenical Patriarch Mr. Bartholomew, discussed in detail the ecclesiastical issue of Skopje, and, in the final stage, evaluated the Mother Church’s appeal to the Church there, as well as the repeated appeals of the State of Northern Macedonia: decided the following:

2) Confirmation to the Most Holy Church of Serbia for the settlement of administrative matters between it and the Church of Northern Macedonia, within the framework of the secular order and ecclesiastical tradition.
3) Recognizes as the name of this Church “Ohrid” (meaning the area of ​​its jurisdiction only within the borders of the state of Northern Macedonia), as promised in writing to the Ecumenical Patriarchate and its Prelate, excluding the term “Macedonian” and any other derivative of the word “Macedonia”.
