The Russian businessman Victor Boothwho was convicted in the US for arms sales, may be exchanged with the American basketball player Britney Greenerwho is accused in Russia of drug trafficking, confirmed on Friday at TASS source of the Public Monitoring Committee.
“At the moment, talks are underway to exchange Booth with Greiner,” the source said.
Earlier, a source in the Gazeta.Ru news agency reported that a preparation process for such an exchange.

Late last month, Russia and the United States exchanged pilot Konstantin Yaroshenko, who was convicted in the United States for drug-related crimes, for American student Trevor Reed, who was convicted in Russia of assaulting police officers.
THE Victor Booth was arrested in the Thai capital, Bangkok, in 2008 by US federal agents. He was accused of plotting to hand over weapons to a group considered a terrorist organization by the United States.
In 2010, Booth was extradited to the United States.
