While hundreds of Ukrainian soldiers have left the Azovstal factory this week, there are probably still hundreds inside the besieged complex in Mariupol and they seem to include some senior commanders.
One of them is Major Bodan Krotevic, chief of staff of the Azov regiment. In recent days, he has frequently posted on his social media accounts, talking about military tactics and the fight for Ukraine, but not about what could happen to him.
In a post on Wednesday, he suggested he would not surrender, saying “the fight continues.”
The Russian Defense Ministry stated that over 1,700 Ukrainian soldiers have been delivered to the Azovstal steel plant in Mariupol since 16 May.
In an Instagram post, Krotevic told his allies: “The war is not over, the full-scale war has just begun. “You have to become a commander and take control, or run away and then you will suffer even greater losses.”
Krotevic said that “Russia, like the United States, was accustomed to fighting against much weaker countries, and every problem was solved by massive artillery bombardment or air raids. “We are weaker in military capabilities, but the confidence of the enemy is our trump card.”
