INSS no longer requires the use of masks in agencies

by

The use of a face protection mask is no longer mandatory within the INSS (National Social Security Institute) agencies. The decision was published this Monday (23), in the Official Gazette of the Union, and is already in force. The mask will remain mandatory when there is municipal law indicating the mandatory use.

The change was made in a joint ordinance of the INSS and the Undersecretary of Federal Medical Expertise. Also according to the decision, the other measures to control and prevent the risks of transmission of Covid-19 within the agencies are maintained.

According to the publication, information will be fixed with guidelines on the permanence of adequate hand hygiene, collective health care and the use of shared environments.

In addition, cleaning in service areas, medical expertise rooms, professional rehabilitation, social assistance, as well as major contact points, such as elevators, handrails and door handles, should remain reinforced.

As the use becomes optional in most municipalities, policyholders who want will be able to continue wearing the mask at branches.

In São Paulo, the use of masks was no longer mandatory in March, as determined by Governor João Doria (PSDB). However, in health facilities, protection remains mandatory.

MASK USE

On April 1 of this year, an ordinance signed by the Ministry of Labor and Ministry of Health recommended dispensing with the use of masks in work environments in states and municipalities with a low or moderate number of Covid cases. The text recommended protection for workers aged 60 or over “who present clinical risk conditions” for Covid.

The recommendation is still to charge masks in places where the physical distance of at least one meter cannot be implemented, except in states and municipalities that have already released protection.
