Konstantinidis: “The first and last reason for the new Toumpa PAE is there for Savvidis and Mystakides”

As a member of the Technical Committee for N. Toumpa but also a former administrative official of CAE PAOK, but mainly as a sportsman and fanatical supporter of his independent institution, let me want to share the following thoughts.

Prolonged waiting has a direct and indirect consequences for the PAOK Association, especially as we go for the celebration of a hundred years, but also for the wider Tuba area. At the same time, the uncertainty about the future of the stadium causes frustration and impatience for the fans, who see their dream delay. The delay also creates a climate of mistrust towards institutions and those responsible, the racing department is not unaffected, the worst thing is that divide is cultivated in PAOK ranks.

The people of PAOK have a huge real estate in Tuba and Pylea, with two privately owned stadiums from which they must collect rents. It also holds a huge franchise (name and signal rights) which must be given for remuneration to SA (PAE-CAE). No other club in Greece has corresponding assets. So the manager of this property is PAOK, elected by the base of the fans. The institution of Amateur (AS) is a guardian for the next brave fans of the team. It must not only be but also seem honest, and I have the confidence that the current administration has pure intentions, which is why the technocratic committee that has appointed, and I am a member, gave one and only directive, ensure the viability of N. Toumba’s work, as our responsibility is.

The Memorandum was drafted by the Technical Committee appointed by the Board of Directors of the PM, with members of two excellent colleagues, Dr. Konstantinos Katakalos, Mr. Konstantinos Kornilakis, now appropriate, and me. It provides for immediate initiation of procedures and guarantees at each phase of preparatory actions, on clear and strict terms. It also requires the emergence of all budget funds prior to the commencement of work and defines a strict framework for integration, not only of the project but also the other actions that precede. A text that is intact and can refute any logical antagonism to scientific and technocratic terms. It is given that it must be the basis of an agreement to start discussions with the potential investor.

Let us start with PAOK and Ivan Savvidis, anyone who has worked as a employee consultant in a professional contract, especially when he knows that the property may change owner, imposes the condition that it should be able to have the last equivalent of the owner, if the owner can do so. This moral obligation is by PM, the PAE is the tenant of the stadium, so it is appropriate to have, not only the first reason, but also the latter, for the construction of N. Tuba. This also preserves the rights of the PAE as an investor and the obligation of the PM to achieve the best agreement by securing the next generations of PAOK fans. There is also a legal issue in addition to morals, as the PAE has spent resources and money under the Treaty of an earlier agreement to build the stadium in studies and services. From this there is relative maturity for immediate start of the licensing process. Another legal issue is that the stadium needs a team, that the next day could evolve if it found one PAE and another owner of the stadium, with hostile moods towards each other, and the football team for two years in Kaftatzoglio. The start of N. Toumpa could clearly be made earlier, clearly there were delays from the PAE and communication errors, but it is also the same investor that brought titles and glamor to PAOK football. Meria Savvidis is ready to sign a Memorandum of Understanding already existing on September 22, and says that it can start the procedures the next day of the signature.

Coming from the basketball field, a sport that I served and I will serve again at any time I was asked, I could not be happy when I was informed of the intention of buying PAOK PAOK on Meria Mysakides. Who wants to get involved in PAOK in general so that he also influenced Thessaloniki. Energy upgrading work has been completed already for technical inspection of the closed in Pylea. I mention with the knowledge of knowledge that they will exceed 5m euros, as I personally dealt with the assessment of the project as a technical adviser to the BANA administration. Also with the then administration we had submitted a business plan for developing around Palataki with the aim of exploiting the huge amounts spent by the PAOK organization in rent. Looking at some details, 48 ​​real estate is leasing for athletes by the Amateur, about 12 PAE and 8 usually the OEM, a total of 68 rents, some of which, at a very high price. The Master Plan (spatial design) around the palace contained three types of complexes, one of 8 luxurious pools, second with 20 two -storey houses for athletes with a family and a third construction with 40 studios and apartments. A guarded settlement, a PAOK Campus, with public recreation areas, commercial zone and sports facilities. Provision for the construction of a hotel for foreign team missions (it is an OEM-PAE obligation to cover the accommodation of hosted team from many European events) but also for fans who want to watch the team but live outside Greece or outside the city. During the summer, the entire Campus PAOK could serve as a Summer PAOK Camp for the next generation of athletes and as another source of revenue. A project perhaps more vital than N. Toumpa, next to Palataki, 5th from the N. coaching in Themis, less than 10 ‘from the Tuba stadium. There are also premeditations to expand to Palataki with a reference to 15,000 places so that Euroleague races and large events from all over Europe can be hosted. The future owner of the CAE can finance such a project, instead of being all close to him and embracing every design, there is a part of fans that characterize him with unimaginable adjectives. Perhaps from the side of Mystakides team, communicative errors have been made, but one of those who stand against him may take responsibility if this investor is gathered. Then our dream will be in the air to return basketball back to Thessaloniki and Palataki to host 15,000 people in Eurolegue.

Meria Savvidis would cooperate with Meria Mystakidis for the future of a larger PAOK, the PAE would accept to lease the real estate that would essentially belong to an opponent. Mystakides would accept to go back to N. Toumpa for the development of Campus PAOK and a new palace.

Talking to the above with friends I heard, “need synergies to go below”, a regular phrase of a familiar near the PAE organization, which finds me absolutely agreement. Another friend I appreciate very much, through let’s say, “If someone does, he will stay in history.”

Well, with the story, the present administration of the Amateur, who has to be transformed into a functional team, or designate an executive under his auspices, made up of selfless market experts, technical experts and good negotiators. Who will at least be able to attempt to show their two investors their physical spaces for the good of PAOK.

In the first telephone conversation with the new president, I had mentioned to him, “… if we haven’t met, I totally support you and I am at your disposal, since you are the supreme institution of PAOK”, whenever I was asked I was there and I will continue to be as asked for me. Maybe this is the first time I have been making a public placement, without being asked, I do not aim for personal benefits, I have no ambitions around the organization, those who know me even a little know. But I think we are heading for a civil war, and I want to be clearly conscious that I personally did what it is possible to prevent.
