Panel SA: Ânima Educação announces R$ 150 million fund for startups

by

Ânima Educação announces the creation of its first corporate venture capital, a R$ 150 million investment fund for startups from various sectors that permeate education.

Reynaldo Gama, CEO of HSM, a corporate education platform, who will manage the fund, says that the idea is to choose companies that can contribute in some way to education, for example, with artificial intelligence and augmented reality solutions.

“We want to look for startups with solutions that accelerate our mission of transforming the country through education. We will not only look at the financial return of the fund. It is also aligned with the strategic return”, he says.

The fund is valid for up to ten years and will invest in local and foreign companies.

Also according to Gama, about a third of the investment should be allocated to entrepreneurs who intend to start from scratch and want Ânima as a partner.

According to the company, the move has been going on for a few years. In 2020, through HSM and Singularity University, Ânima inaugurated an innovation and technology hub focused on education and development of people in Latin America.
