Panel SA: ‘It’s your responsibility’, says truck driver leader to Bolsonaro in video

by

The truck drivers again raised the tone and reinforced the possibility of a stoppage of the category. In a video released this Monday (23), Wallace Landim, the Chorão, one of the main leaders of the 2018 strike, demanded the attitude of President Jair Bolsonaro in relation to the successive increases in fuel prices.

“Or you call responsibility, call the Petrobras board of directors, call the Ministry of Economy, whoever you want. Because, if not, this country will stop again. The category is already stopping for not being able to run, the class poor people can’t afford to eat. Call responsibility, because otherwise this country will be at a standstill, and the responsibility is yours”, he said.

Chorão’s speeches about the possibility of a strike have fluctuated in recent days, given the upheavals in the matter. A few days ago, shortly after taking a poll on social media to measure what support a new strike would have, he said he was concerned about the impacts that a strike would have on the already fragile Brazilian economy.

In another message released this Tuesday (24), Chorão said that truck drivers were taken by surprise with the new change in command of Petrobras in less than 40 days and demanded transparency in relation to the diesel stock in the domestic market and the price of the product.

“The category of autonomous truck drivers, app drivers and motoboys need a minimum of safety and predictability to continue working in the face of successive fuel increases”, he said.
