After announcing the withdrawal of his presidential candidacy this Monday (23), former governor João Doria also ruled out the possibility of running for a position in the Legislative.
On the future of Doria’s career, businessmen close to the toucan say that he should not return to Lide, the company that projected him in the political world and was under the command of his son João Doria Neto when the toucan went into public life.
Some are betting that he will return to the private sector, but in another segment. Others suggest a long sabbatical before a political rescue in the future.
Speculation about Doria’s path began to heat up at the end of March, when he first announced that he would give up the presidential race to continue in the government of São Paulo, but then backed off.
In the words of a friend of the former governor, he would have become too big to return to Lide and it would be more appropriate to continue taking care of his own assets, taking on boards of directors of companies or even traveling to Italy or the United States for a phase of studies, since the children are adults.
In his speech on Monday (23), he ended by saying that he will continue as an observer of the country, but willing to fight the war to which he is called, in public or private life.
