The measures of the National Support Program from the price increases to the energy announced by the Prime Minister, include an amendment of the Ministry of Environment.
It is recalled that the pillars of the mechanism created by the government, provide for the return of up to 600 euros to home consumers and students who have been overcharged by the electricity bills issued from December 1, 2021 to May 31, 2022, in the main residence and have not been covered by the discounts granted during the same period. The return of 60% to those who paid in this semester, increases of more than 30 euros, and have a family income of up to 45,000.

In addition, the amendment introduces the extraordinary contribution with a rate of 90% that will be imposed on the super profits of energy providers, for the period from October 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022. According to the provisions of the amendment, the calculation of the contribution is made by RAE, is charged by the Ministry of Environment and Energy and is certified and collected by AADE, in order to be attributed to the Energy Transition Fund.
The following are excluded from the imposition of the levy:
a) electricity producers from renewable energy sources (RES) who have concluded an operating aid contract, in accordance with Law 4414/2016 (A ‘149) or a contract for the sale of electricity, according to Article 12 of Law. 3468/2006 (A 129) or corresponding contract for the purchase and sale of electricity, before the entry into force of Law 3468/2006.
b) the producers of electricity of thermal units that are installed in the Small Connected System (MSS) of Crete.
Especially for the producers of electricity from High Efficiency Cogeneration of Electricity – Heat (S.TH.Y.A.), the levy is imposed only on the amount of electricity produced that is compensated by the participation of this producer in the electricity markets.
