The regulation for the correction of square meters exempts property owners from all the fines arising from the differences of square meters, while it also provides the possibility of paying the fees corresponding to the correct square meters, in 24 monthly installments.
More property owners have the ability to make use of it favorable regulation for undeclared squares with a bill of the Ministry of Interior that was put to public consultation today.
In particular, it is provided that the extension given until 30 June 2022 for the correction of square properties also refers to the statements submitted during the period from 1 January to 23 March 2022, that is, the day before the date of publication in law of the relevant provision.
The sums of money paid by the citizens, in addition to the due ones, will be returned upon request.
It is noted that the regulation for the correction of square meters exempts property owners from all fines arising from differences in square meters. It also provides the ability to pay the fees corresponding to the correct square meters, in 24 monthly installments, calculated from 1 January 2020 to the date of declaration with a fine of 20% on the amount resulting from the difference of the square meters of this interval.
Another provision sets April 6 as Day of Thracian Hellenismin memory of the victims of the extermination of the Greeks of Thrace, and especially of Eastern Romulia, from 1914 “which prepared the practices and policies that were adopted and implemented against Pontic and Asia Minor Hellenism”.

Also, for reasons of speed o supplying the diplomatic authorities with ballot papers for the exercise of the suffrage of Greeks abroad at their place of residence, it is foreseen to be done with the care of the parties without the intermediate intervention of the Ministry of Interior.
They are included in the bill additional measures for the implementation of EU Regulation (2019/788) on the European Citizens’ Initiative, according to which European citizens have the opportunity through a collection of signatures to intervene in the democratic decision-making process of the Union. Those who have reached the age of 17 have the right to sign a declaration of support. The Ministry of Interior is designated as the body responsible for implementing the support statement collection system, while providing free information and assistance to the organizing teams.
Finally, it is stipulated that all the responsibilities of FODSA (Solid Waste Management Bodies) are exercised by only one body, as the possibility of establishing more than one body in each region is eliminated, while the issue of non-provision of special regulation for the operation of FODSA in regions of Crete and North Aegean.
The bill is entitled “Complementary measures for the implementation of Regulation (EU) 2019/788 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the European Citizens’ Initiative and Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/1799 laying down technical specifications for sub-online collection systems – Provisions related to the electoral process and the control of revenues and expenditures of parties, coalitions and candidates for MPs and elected officials – Other provisions of the Ministry of Interior “and will be posted in the Public Consultation until June 21.
