Prices and office rents increased in 2021, according to the Bank of Greece

Distinguished by geographical area, the corresponding average annual growth rate of rents for Athens amounted to 2.3%, in Thessaloniki to 5.5% and in the rest of Greece to 5.0%.

Office prices increased by 1.8% and by 3.7% of their rents in 2021. According to the data of the Bank of Greece in 2021, the nominal prices of high standard offices increased by an average of 1.8% compared to 2020 for the whole of Greece, compared to a corresponding increase of 1.2% in 2020. With a distinction of geographical area, in 2021 the nominal prices of high standard offices were recorded average annual increase 4.5% in Athens, 0.4% Thessalonikiwhile they decreased by 1.2% in the rest of Greece.

In the second half of 2021, the nominal prices of high standard office space for the whole country increased by 1.2% compared to the first half of 2021 (provisional data). In the second half of 2020, the prices of high standard offices recorded a marginal decrease of 0.1% compared to the previous half, while in the first half of 2021 they recorded an increase of 1.2% (revised data). By distinction by geographical area, in the second half of 2021 the nominal prices of high standard office space increased by 2.3% in the greater Athens area, compared to the first half of 2021, by 0.4% in Thessaloniki, while they decreased marginally by 0.1% in the rest of Greece.

For the whole of 2021, office rents in nominal terms for the whole of Greece increased by 3.7% (provisional data). By geographical area, the corresponding average annual rent growth rate for Athens amounted to 2.3%in Thessaloniki at 5.5% and to rest of Greece at 5.0%.

Office rents, in the second half of 2021, for the whole country, recorded an increase of 0.4% compared to the first half of 2021 (provisional data). The corresponding rates of change in rents were 1.4% in the second half of 2020 and 2.7% in the first half of 2021 (revised data).

Based on the available provisional data, in 2021 the nominal prices of high quality stores increased by an average of 2.1% compared to 2020, for the whole of Greece, compared to an increase of 2.6% in 2020. By geographical distinction region, the corresponding average annual price growth rate was 2.1% for Athens, 0.9% for Thessaloniki and 2.3% for the rest of Greece.

In the second half of 2021, the nominal prices of high quality stores increased by 1.2% compared to the previous half, for the whole country (provisional data). The corresponding rates of change were 0.6% in the second half of 2020 and 1.2% in the first half of 2021 (revised data). By distinction by geographical area, in the second half of 2021 the nominal prices of high quality stores recorded an increase of 2.3% in the greater Athens area, compared to the first half of 2020, and a marginal decrease of 0.1% in Thessaloniki and in the rest of Greece.

For the whole of 2021, the rents of the stores in nominal terms, for the whole country, recorded an average annual increase of 1.1% (provisional data). With distinction by geographical area, the respective Average annual rent growth rates were 1.3% for Athens, 1.1% for Thessaloniki and 1.0% for the rest of Greece.

In the second half of 2021, store rents increased by 0.9% compared to the first half of 2021 for the whole country (provisional data). The corresponding rent growth rates were 0.1% in the second half of 2020 and 0.6% in the first half of 2021 (revised figures).
