FecomercioSP sent a message to the leaders of the Senate and the Ministry of Economy to reiterate its position in the new conversations on tax reform.
“FecomercioSP is concerned about the news that the federal government and Congress would be aligning a new proposal on the taxation of profits and dividends, with a rate of 10%. that would raise costs to the business community. To exemplify, the company taxed by the real profit regime would have an increase in the charge from 34% to 37%”, says the entity.
In service providers taxed by the presumed profit regime, the increase would be from 17.53% to 24.63% of the load, says FecomercioSP.
The argument is that small and medium-sized businesses would be affected, because in smaller companies it is common to distribute a large part of the profits to the partners.
“Instead of encouraging entrepreneurship and business development, the discussion will result in an increase in the tax burden for most taxpayers and in complexity and litigation, discouraging business growth”, says the entity.
