The platform for Fuel Pass 2, the new enhanced fuel subsidy announced by the government today, will open at the end of July.
According what the Minister of Finance, Christos Staikouras, said earlierthe new aid will lower the price of gasoline below 2 euros.
Some examples given by the Secretary-General for Fiscal Policy, Thanos Petraliasare as follows:
For 60 liters of fuel per month, after the subsidy,
- In a continental area (eg in Attica), its price gasoline from 2.40 euros / liter will be reduced to 1.96 euros / liter.

In a continental area (eg in Attica), the price at diesel from 2.06 euros / liter will be reduced to 1.62 euros / liter.

In an island area (eg Dodecanese), gasoline from 2.55 euros / liter will be reduced to 1.99 euros / liter.

In the Cyclades, diesel from 2.22 euros / liter will be reduced to 1.66 euros / liter.
Fuel Pass 2 will cover almost 9 out of 10 (3.1 million out of 3.5 million in total) vehicle owners, including self-employed.
The 30,000 euros of family income are no longer a ceiling, but the base and are increased by € 3,000 for each additional member of the household up to € 45,000.
That is, for a couple the limit is set at € 33,000 and reaches € 45,000 for a couple with 4 children. Income criteria are applied based on this year’s tax returns.
The leadership of YPOIK saw that in the first phase of the fuel pass only 20% used the digital card and increases the incentive for its use from 5 € to 15 €.
So for I.X. residents the subsidy with a digital card increases by 80% from 45 € to 80 €. However, the one who chooses to put the money in his bank account will receive € 65. For the inhabitants of the island areas, the subsidy with a digital card almost doubles from 55 € to 100 €. At € 85 is the subsidy through a bank account.
It was decided to double the subsidy to € 60 for motorcycles in the mainland. In the island areas the amount goes up to 70 €. 45 € and 55 € respectively will be received by those who choose to take the money by bank.
According to the calculations of YPOIK, the intervention subsidizes for the period July-September 180 liters that correspond to about 600 kilometers, with 44 cents / liter in mainland Greece and 52 cents / liter in the islands.
The cost of the measure amounts to 200m. euro.
As in the first cycle, each vehicle can only be declared by one natural person and each natural person can only register one vehicle. Prerequisites for the vehicle to be in circulation, to be insured and to have no traffic fees due.
The 15-minute discount on the pump for diesel is also extended until September, with the cost of the measure reaching € 115m.
According to the third intervention, the return of the EFK for the use of agricultural oil in the first 6 months to the professional farmers in August instead of November is accelerated. Here, too, the applications will be made through a special platform and the final amount will be a function of the oil markets but also with a maximum rate per acre for each crop or breeding, as formulated in the IACS declaration of 2021. However, a prerequisite for obtaining of the aid is to have submitted an IACS declaration for the year 2022. The cost of the intervention reaches 60 million €.
The total cost for the Budget of the 3 measures announced reaches 375 million euros.
