Panel SA: Assaí Atacadista announces that it will name the Metro station in SP

by

For the first time, São Paulo’s Metrô will have a company brand associated with the name of a station. The Assaí cash and carry chain should announce in the next few days that it will name a stop on the 3-red line, starting to call it Carrão-Assaí Atacadista.

The new signs will be placed on signs and maps at the station, in addition to the platform and sound messages that announce the location on the trains, according to the company.

The change is part of the so-called “naming rights” project launched by the government of São Paulo this year to grant advertising exploitation in the names of stations such as Saúde, Brigadeiro, Consolação, Penha and Anhangabaú.

Metrô is carrying out bidding processes for the program and another station is also expected to be announced shortly.

A similar model has already been practiced in the Rio de Janeiro subway, with the Botafogo/Coca-Cola stop.

Assaí says he chose Carrão because the company opened its first store, in 1974, on Rua da Manilha.
