On Tuesday (28), allegations of sexual harassment against the president of Caixa Econômica Federal, Pedro Guimarães, came to light. The Metrópoles portal reported that at least five employees of the state bank reported having been victims of harassment by Guimarães.

The search for justice in sexual harassment cases gained strength with the denunciation of the Harvey Weinstein case, who in 2020 was sentenced to 23 years in prison for rape and sexual assault.
A series of cases involving the film producer were revealed by The New York Times in 2017, starting a series of complaints from politicians, celebrities and artists and the strengthening of the #MeToo movement.
Recall some of the sexual harassment allegations that have come to light in the last year.
Andrew Cuomo
Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo resigned in August 2021 amid allegations of sexual harassment. The investigation concluded that he sexually harassed 11 women.
The complaints began when a former adviser to the governor said he had asked about her sex life and whether she had sex with older men. Another former aide said he unexpectedly kissed her, tried to touch her inappropriately and suggested they play “strip poker”.
The former governor denies he has inappropriately touched anyone or made overtures, says he jokes with people about their personal lives and relationships, but understands that his interactions “may have been insensitive or too personal”.
Elon Musk
SpaceX, Elon Musk’s space transport company, reportedly paid a flight attendant $250,000 in 2018 to settle a sexual harassment allegation. The information is from the Business Insider website.
The employee allegedly accused Musk of exposing his erect penis and offering him a horse in exchange for an erotic massage.
Musk claimed that the claim would be politically motivated and “totally false”. According to the website, SpaceX did not respond.
Gabriel Monteiro
Councilman Gabriel Monteiro (PL-RJ) was denounced on Friday (24) for harassment and sexual harassment against a former advisor. The Public Ministry of Rio de Janeiro states that the councilor forced the employee to participate in recordings of scenes of a sexual nature, under threat of dismissal, which were then published on their social networks.
Monteiro is also a defendant in a video recording case in which he has sex with a 15-year-old girl. The parliamentarian said he believed the girl was 18 years old. There are other investigations underway against the councilor, who denies the allegations.
In April, the Ethics Council of the Rio de Janeiro City Council opened a process that could lead to the removal of Gabriel Monteiro from his mandate.
James Franco
In January 2018, five women reported actor James Franco to the Los Angeles Times; in 2019, a process was opened. Former students claim that, in acting classes, they would have been coerced into doing sexually explicit scenes in front of the cameras.
The actor admitted that he had sex with some students, but that the purpose of the class was not to address sex scenes, but the romance they experienced when they were young.
Lawyers deny the charges. Franco agreed to pay more than $2.2 million to settle the lawsuit.
Klaus Wietzke Brodbeck
Plastic surgeon working in Porto Alegre (RS), Klaus Wietzke Brodbeck is accused by dozens of women of crimes of sexual harassment and harassment, involving touching, flirting and offering cosmetic procedures in exchange for favors that he implied were sexual.
The Civil Police of Rio Grande do Sul is also investigating possible rape of a vulnerable person, which would have occurred with a sedated patient. A former employee claimed to have heard the doctor having sex with patients more than once, asking him to film him, buy condoms and walk around naked in the office.
The doctor denied all the allegations.
Rogério Caboclo
In June 2021, Rogério Caboclo was accused by his secretary of moral and sexual harassment. Then president of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), the Ethics Commission determined his removal from the position for 21 months.
The employee recorded conversations in which Caboclo questioned whether the advisor “masturbated”. She also accuses him of calling her a “bitch”, trying to force her to eat a dog biscuit and other harassment.
Caboclo’s defense denies that there was moral and sexual harassment and claims to be the target of actions orchestrated by his predecessor in the presidency of the CBF, Marco Polo Del Nero.
Samuel Klein
Dozens of women report having been victims of sexual exploitation in childhood and adolescence by Samuel Klein, founder of Casas Bahia, who died at the age of 91 in 2014.
THE Sheet found seven civil and three criminal cases against Klein. There are reports of out-of-court settlements made with victims, in addition to cases being considered time-barred. The businessman never reported to the courts.
In one of the cases, Klein’s defense suggests an attempt at illicit enrichment and bad faith litigation, claiming that if the reported facts were true, the alleged victim would not have taken so long to seek justice.
Saul Klein
Saul Klein, one of Samuel Klein’s four children, is also accused of rape. In December 2020, the businessman was reported by 32 women to the Public Ministry of São Paulo (MP-SP).
In December 2019, Saul Klein said he offered R$1.6 million in exchange for silence and discretion for two young women who threatened to release intimate photos of meetings described as orgies on his properties.
After a request for preventive detention in April 2022, lawyer André Boiani e Azevedo said in a note that Saul Klein reaffirms that he never committed any crime.
Sérgio Penna
One of the main casting coaches in Brazil, Sérgio Penna was accused of sexual harassment by 36 women. The complaints involve actresses at the beginning of their careers who suffered harassment in their course and in get-togethers, and there are reports of at least two minors.
Penna allegedly tried to kiss students by force, touched their private parts without permission and committed other forms of abuse. He denies the charges.
